Human Aggression

ShadyHi Christine,
It was a pleasure to meet with you and we are grateful for your services, especially me!  I knew we needed some help just from the stress level I could see from 'my pack' and that a dog was going to be a footnote in this family if something did not change.  I had one of those moments when joy overcomes because of witnessing something beautiful.  At one point yesterday I thought I was going to start crying because you brought out something in Shady that I had never seen but knew she had the potential.  It had a lot to do with the walk, but I could feel it in her that it was exactly what she needed... well any way enough sappy stuff.. We all have a lot of work to do and we do so gladly because we all want to share our lives with a companion like Shady, we just needed some training.  Thanks again, and will keep you updated.  By the way, last night, she was an angel, she laid under my legs and enjoyed her Bully Stick and even more so, I had no shoes on and she did not go for toe munching which is a first.  Again, I am so glad we could all line up, my family is amazing and they really deserve all the best.  That's why I chose the Amstaff and that's why we called you!!

Thanks
Evan B.

Louie Hi Christine,

We learned a lot the other night and we're so glad we called you. It's not quite been 48 hours yet but Louie has been a different dog since you left and we're continuing with the homework. He's rebelled a few times but he's definitely giving in.

Ruth and I can’t thank you enough for the help and guidance you have given us since we engaged with you in helping us with Louie. What a remarkable difference you have made and you really put it best when you were at our house last week when you said we seem to be enjoying Louie much more. That is exactly the truth and he has really endeared himself to us…or we have helped him endear himself to us by giving him the leadership and structure he needs that you immediately pointed out to us on your first visit.

He is such a character and we have all benefited by having met you. We now don’t know what we’d do without Louie. We both truly respect your knowledge and intuition and we would recommend you highly to anyone needing help with their dog.

Thanks again, and we’ll give you periodical updates on Louie the Legend!

Take Care,

Dan Borrelli

Karmann My story starts with a beautiful Pit Bull named Karmann. She was adopted on Feb 14th. I had my hopes set high on getting her home and instantly having a bond with her like "daddys lil' girl".....that is far from what did happen. Karmann, in her home element, was extremely scared of me. She would tuck her tail and hide the moment I would walk in the house. For months I would just play it off like it was no big deal, that soon caught up with me. One day when I walked in the house she tucked her tail and walked away. I figured I would slowly walk up to her and comfort her. So I extended my hand and gently rubbed her back to assure her no harm was meant. She was so scared she urinated the moment I touched her. That is when I knew we would have to get help. Karmann did not have any issues with the lady of the house, Angela. So we called Christine in hopes she could help me. Christine came for the initial consult and sat down with us. We explained our issues and she had answers for everything. Once we moved outside for the hands on segment, she again impressed us with her knowledge and professionalism. She gave me homework to do for 3 weeks. I did everything she said and in just 3 weeks we got exactly what we had dreamed of... a dog who had peace, harmony and balance in her life. I too got what I wanted.... a daddy’s girl and a dog who is confident in her surroundings. We've also gained Christine as a friend and there are no words that can explain the gratitude we have for having met you.
Thank You!

Brian and Ang.

Emails from Brian and Ang:

Brian & I are just blown away with your knowledge and are both excited about our Karmann's new life.

Tonight was epic. During our walk tonight, I made maybe 3 corrections. Other then that she was right by my side. Even passing 4 dogs. I should also note that I'm not even holding the leash, it is drapped around my neck.

It's quite amazing!

I no longer have to tug on her leash when she's getting ahead, I just snap my finger and say her name and she slows down. As a matter of  fact, I took her leash off a block away from home and she never left  my side.

Amazing!!!!!!!

Stanley My boyfriend Matt and I decided on training sessions for our 10 month old Golden Retriever, Stanley, in September 2009. He was a very high-energy puppy with many behavioral issues. He would constantly jump on people when coming into our home, bark as us for attention, chew on just about anything, including people, take food off tables and counters, and it was very difficult to properly walk him on a leash. After our first session with Christine, Matt and I learned a lot about being the leaders in our home, and we were taught different techniques for how to deal with Stanley's behavior. Within about twenty minutes, Stanley was walking great on the leash, and this was a huge improvement for us. However, we continued to have a hard time with Stanley's other bad habits. During our second training session, Christine introduced the idea of using an electronic collar for Stanley. After a few days of thought and consideration, Matt and I decided to test out the collar and see how it worked. At first, we were both opposed to the idea, because we thought it might be painful to our dog and crush his playful spirits. However after feeling the collar for ourselves and receiving an education on how to properly use such a tool, we realized that it was not painful and would not change his playful nature. Within minutes of wearing the collar, Stanley was showing signs of improvement. It was as if the collar spoke a language to him that he finally understood! After a few lesson with Christine, he has truly been a different dog.  Stanley has just turned one year old, and we could not be more thrilled with his progress! Thank you Christine!!

RubenRaising our Anatolian Shepherd, Ruben, has indeed been a challenge. After I was pulled down five times while walking him, my husband and I finally realized we needed help. After doing a little research regarding dog trainers, I contacted Christine last summer so that she could help us. Christine is wonderful, very personable and knowledgeable regarding everything canine.

Although we had a variety of concerns about our boy, Ruben, my biggest fear was walking him. The last time he pulled me down, I smashed my face on the pavement. We needed to get him under control during our walks, before I would walk him again.

Christine helped us become calm and assertive pack leaders and it is really paying off. Ruben is much more responsive to our commands and is finally becoming consistently well-behaved.

Kudos to Christine Nolan! Your Dog and You has certainly helped us and can help you too.

Coco We had a party on Saturday night, the first time since we brought home Coco. She was very well behaved. There was no jumping or barking or any bad behavior. Initially she growled at one of the guys and we did what you said, later in a calm manner, she sat and was petted by him. We allowed her to stay out with us the whole time and she was great! It is amazing what you have taught us and how it works so well. She really is turning out to be a wonderful dog! Thanks for all of your help!

MasonChristine,
I want to tell you that it was a pleasure to work with you. Your patience with me and your positive approach during the consultation and training has been a valuable asset in my work with Mason. You really taught me a lot about Mason and dogs in general which I expected; but, more importantly, you taught me about me! I know that with continued practice and diligence, Mason is going to be a well-balanced dog.

Jackie Hi Christine:
All is going well with Jackie. She is a much changed dog due to all of your good work. Jackie's energy level in the house is so much calmer and she is very obedient. She has not had an accident in the house since you were here! Thank you so much for the information you have given me. It has made such a difference already. I am totally committed to doing all of my homework and seeing the results. I am so glad we were able to get together and see how your advice was able to make Jackie a more loveable addition to our family.

Champ Just wanted to give you an update on Champ and I. We are now walking first thing in the morning, and he is doing well. I am mastering the walk!  I am much more confident walking him now, and actually look forward to the chance to practice what we've learned. He is really starting to like our walks. He is also become almost "glued" to me now. He was always an affectionate dog, but he follows me more than my own shadow now. Overall, things are going well, and we are working and having fun with this. I've had several people here ask about you, and have been handing out your card! I am thrilled with the progress we made with you. What Champ and I really needed was to learn how to overcome issues that were getting in the way of us having a more fun, relaxed relationship. That's what you have really done for us. Thank you so much!!

Aspen After only one meeting with Christine, we had new insight on how Aspen thinks and the structure that she needs – what Jim and I personally gained from the experience changed our household. We found we had been given the tools necessary to raise Aspen correctly and have been able to watch her grow into a well-behaved, obedient and loving family (pack) member. Christine shared her knowledge with us so that we could do the best job possible in raising our dog. Her hands-on approach made the difference – it gave us an understanding of what we needed to do and how to make it work for us… and for Aspen.

Christine Nolan is awesome! She spent many hours aligning my pack (and us too!) so that we can now all live in harmony. We continually refer back to the tools she provided during the training sessions. Her technique is very much like that of Cesar Milan, which is part of what attracted us to her in the first place.

Hi Christine, wanted to let you know the treadmill is working out great! Crew and Zoie walk with no leashes and get on by themselves and look at me to turn it on! Thank you so much.
Clara S.

I couldn’t walk my dogs without them dragging me, I can now walk two at a time, walking these two together is great! Thanks Christine.
Clara S.

Christine, the dogs barely barked today – everything was much quieter and calmer, thanks so much for your patience with us!

Trevor Firstly I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU!!! For helping us today! After you left we went for a half hour bike ride, which completely tired Trevor out. After dinner we took our evening walk, and both arms were swinging, and it was by far the best walk we’ve had! Thanks again so much for your help!!!

After one session with Christine, I have been told my dog looks as he is “walking on air”, never pulls and I am enjoying him for the first time! I believe she also saved the life of my tamed parakeet, who did not understand why Mattie would not allow me to give him the attention he was used to. I can for the first time leave him out to fly around and not worry, like I used to that he would be Mattie’s snack for the night. I swear he is looking at me with more respect in those beautiful brown eyes of his. Thank you!

Christine is extremely skillful and capable and I want everyone to know what a great resource she it. Don’t hesitate in working with her if you need help with your own pet. She’s very dedicated and has worked hard to get where she is.

Jade All in all, everything is going EXTREMELY well and I’m feeling and seeing even more promise than I ever thought possible. When we were with my sister, she commented on how she couldn’t believe how well behaved Jade was being! My sister adores Jade, but know that in the past, she was a bit crazy. So it seems that overall asserting and being the “pack leader” as they say is really paying off! Thank you again a million time over!

Christine, I just wanted to express my gratitude to you for all your time and effort yesterday! You were so encouraging to the girls and me. Thank you for your infinite wisdom with dogs, I have learned so much! The things I have learned make so much sense and they dispel the myths that I have always lived with. Most important you have taught us how dogs think and how we need to change our thinking towards dogs to have the best relationship possible. Thank you!
Deb D.
I can’t believe that transformation!
Kim and Mike M.
What I liked the most about working with Christine is that everything is done calmly, no yelling or anything that was rough in anyway, it really is about your energy.
Rich S.
Anyone who really wants to know why dogs do what they do and how to “lead the pack” needs to train with Christine! She’s got the experience and love to help anyone. From Pits to Poodles, Your Dog and You is the best!

Blaze If you have the need, Christine can help!  When I first adopted my dog, Blaze, we struggled with his dominance and territorial issues. Christine gave us hands on help, suggestions that worked and a whole philosophy of understanding my dog that I had never imagined possible!   By using her methods and emulating her calm resolve, we have made so many strides with Blaze. He is a great dog and now we are better owners! Thank you Christine for all you do to save our canine friends and their owners too!

Update: Update on Blaze's progress: Yes, you CAN "teach an old dog new tricks." Thanks to Christine, we have been able to bring a Seeing Eye puppy, Kady, into our home successfully. With pointers from christine, patience and calm resolve, we have been able to teach our once territorial and overly nervous rescue dog Blaze to live harmoniously with our new addition. Thank you Christine for your on-going support and help with our pack!

Gnarly Gnar Dog did almost 10 minutes on the treadmill today by himself!! We didn't freak out in front of him, but we're so proud! Thanks so much for your help!
Heather and Matt S.
I must say I have noticed a difference in Lucy and it has only been 2 days!  In fact she's in her bed now snoozing away! Her overall behavior has improved. We know there's still a long road to go, but everything is going very smoothly. We have committed to retrain ourselves along with Lucy. Thanks Christine and we look forward to keeping you posted on our girl!
Heather & Steve C.
Jack is doing really well, we are very proud of how far he has come, all thanks to you! His behavior has improved drastically! He is really enjoying the lake and now the pool too and we are really able to enjoy him now more also!! We would not have been able to handle Jack without all your help for very much longer!
Michelle S.

Tuck I was thinking about what you taught us as I took Tuck and Libby for a walk by myself tonight!! The leash was loose and both of them stayed right beside me. We walked for about 30 minutes. Libby is doing great with her walking.

Tuck is doing very well. Thanks to you he is potty trained, and is consistently ringing the bells on the ribbon at my back door to let me know he has to go out. Thank you again!
Clare H.

Your help with being calm and confident has helped me in all aspects of my life since returning to school, especially when Elroy gets into something. He seems surprised when I am not upset after he does something wrong and I don't yell at him. He respects me more and is happy to work for me. Thank you for your help with him and the girls at home. From what my parents tell me they are awesome on walks now and they are getting better slowly inside.
Take care.
Chris P.
You are a wonderful person to humans and canines...I cannot ever thank you enough for helping Tucker get his second chance!
Chris T.
BrunoStella Stella & Bruno are Rottie Rescues. They came to us very well behaved; just had a few minor
"issues" to address. Stella likes to try and chase cars while on the leash; she is also very hard to control on
the leash and wants to be everywhere. Bruno gets a bit anxious when he sees another dog on his daily walk.
Christine has been a great help in helping us be in control of these big babies. We are learning every day to be better pack leaders and give the Rotties the leadership they need.
Thanks Christine!

Hi Christine,
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your taking time out of your life to work with me! Thank you, and I'm sure I will always count you as one of the "angels" in my life. I learned so many new tools from you today and I will always have them in my toolbox - thanks to you. Thank you again,
Amy
FeebeeRosie Just want to sing your praise a little today.  Feebee, Rosie and I took our longest walk yet... and for the first time, 100% of the time, I got it .. I felt the feeling that you are supposed to have as the leader... they were with me .. it was a great walk. The practice will go on. Thank you! Paula S.
Kiki Christine, I just wanted to update you on KiKi and let you know how much easier it is handling KiKi since our sessions with you. We always knew she was a sweet baby girl, just a bit strong willed. After learning how she thinks and what she needs, everything fell into place. You are a wealth of knowledge and amazing at getting the information across. We can't thank you enough for teaching all of us. Every dog owner would benefit from working with you and have a harmonious relationship with their dog/s. Thank you again!
Carol S., KiKi and the girls.
